I love to read. I read several books at the same time. Five or six on average. Whenever I receive a new book with my professional interest I can wait to open a package and read at least a few pages right then and there. Today was the day I received three new books. One was on uses of language, one of my favorite subjects. I read a page of introduction and went on into the chapter 1. In a few minutes I felt that I experience a familiar tingle and after a deep breath I noticed an elevated level of excitement in my mind, and a sensation of warmth in my chest. I felt at peace. I felt content. I sat back and took another deep breath. Suddenly I felt powerful beyond measure. It’s not just that knowledge is power. It’s that acquiring knowledge generates physical contentment which generates pleasure. Physical relaxation while acquiring knowledge helps translate the physical into perceived mental power. it feels good to read, be able to understand the complexity of the ideas and move easily through pages of text. It feels good to be able to remember, absorb and retain. It feels good to find ease with elevating my personal level of performance in becoming more effective with my clients… It just feels good. I let it feel good for a while longer.
