Gamma Awareness Research

A few months ago I wrote about Gamma Brain Waves. Today the journey unfolds.

My talk Gamma States – The Brain Science Behind Feeling Good, is a keynote speech at the NGH Convention, in August 2012, titled Success Is A Journey, in Marlboro, MA, where over 3,000 professional hypnotists gather to exchange the latest news in a developing their professional awareness.

Gamma brain oscillation patterns are part of the natural cyclic wave emissions that the human brain puts out each moment. They are believed to play a role in integrating and facilitating consciousness, attention, learning and memory.

Tudor Vieru, an online science editor, in his article Optogenetics Influencing Gamma Brain Waves researches the new ways neuroscientists use to influence the brain in attaining gamma brain waves, using laser light spectrum in activating a specific set of cells in left prefrontal cortex, as well as isolating and activating some expressed genes called ChR2 in different class of neurons.

To find out more about gamma waves, Marc Kaufman, a Washington Post Staff Writer, embarked on a journey. In his article, Meditation Gives Brain A Change, he writes about an interview with R. Davidson, a neuroscientist in the University of Wisconsin, who prove in studies that neuro-plasticity of our brain allows us to develop, influence and create our future, using gamma states.

“Those transformed states have traditionally been understood in transcendent terms, as something outside the world of physical measurement and objective evaluation. But over the past few years, researchers at the University of Wisconsin working with Tibetan monks have been able to translate those mental experiences into the scientific language of high-frequency gamma waves and brain synchrony, or coordination. And they have pinpointed the left prefrontal cortex, an area just behind the left forehead, as the place where brain activity associated with meditation is especially intense.

“What we found is that the longtime practitioners showed brain activation on a scale we have never seen before,” said Richard Davidson, a neuroscientist at the university’s new $10 million W.M. Keck Laboratory for Functional Brain Imaging and Behavior. “Their mental practice is having an effect on the brain in the same way golf or tennis practice will enhance performance.” It demonstrates, he said, that the brain is capable of being trained and physically modified in ways few people can imagine.” Monday, January 3, 2005 page Ao5

Over the years of research involving “professional” meditators, Tibetan monks and a control group of novices in meditation, Davidson concludes that the brain in gamma through meditation begins to influence the changes in brain function, producing permanent changes. The impact of this conclusion potentially can be important. If changes in the brain can be influenced by the trained mind in meditation, and so can its function, the potentiality of controlling the thoughts, projections, and visualizations, can lead to finally proving the importance of mind training in creating the future.

"The work that you are doing does sound differernt from whats out there. Thats what I like about it. It seems to go to the next makes sense!!" Sherri, 48, Medical Sales, Utah

"At the conference two things stood out for me. The first was your passion and knowledge about gamma, the second was the way that I felt during and after your presentation. It was a great experience for me: my body became very energized, like a power surge. I also experienced clarity about current situation in my life. I can just imagine what results I can have in private sessions with you! So I am drawn to learning more." Brad, 55, Psychiatrist, Vermont

"First of all, I was surprised at your organization, the size and breadth of the scope of work you did with me in the sessions. All my questions were answered. I was amazed how we went through the questions as sort of a blueprint of my life, and did all of it in one sitting. Very good, accomplished feeling! The most valuable revelation is that I am in charge of my life and it is doable, and can be effortless!" Jason, 57, Technical Director, Vancouver

"For a few weeks after our private work, I had not seen the connection between our work and the results in my life. I started to write every day, with interest and my novel is moving along. Recently, upon re-reading the transcripts from our sessions and evaluating my daily work, I realized, that what is now happening in my life is a direct result of our work together, my own revelations, and the personal intention I created for myself! Morrin thank you for making my life effortless! I didn't realize that I had acquired such a commitment to my writing and the actions I needed to be taking is so I can complete the book by my deadline." Teresa, 47, Author, Seattle, WA

"Thank you for your work with me. I feel so connected with inner quiet stillness and serendipity, a sensation of excitement and effortlessness. I feel very powerful in my own life experience, and exactly the way I want to be." Shirri, 38, Consultant, Israel

"Morrin, these amazing results must be attributed to our recent conversations. I don't k now how you do it. The result is that I am excited about my life, feel fully engaged in life, which is effortless and free." Lorraine R., 48, Banker

"As a mentor, you probably heard it before, but I will say it again. Now, after I started working with you, it is easier for me to do what I have to do at work. I manage a number of people and tasks, this coordination used to be tedious for me, and I used to get angry and impatient. Now I have a totally different awareness, and I had great experience learning through Gamma Hypnosis." Tim Daniel, 48, Sr. Manager, New York
